a spring day in boulder
on saturday, we took a drive out to boulder, a quick 35 minute trip from denver. the skies were gloomy in the morning but the clouds parted for a few hours so we could enjoy the farmers market, pearl street and even a silent disco equipped with hula hooping.
the market was expansive but welcoming, featuring not only local produce, but also delicious prepared food, musicians and makers. we sampled turkey and brie sandwiches from the organic sandwich company and chai tea from the dushanbe tea house. later, after some shopping on pearl (including the foodie paradise, cured), we finished the day at basta pizzeria, about a ten minute drive from the town center. this was some of the best food we've had out here in colorado (pictured: polenta with fiddlehead ferns and pork belly and a seasonal pizza with spring nettle pesto, onions and colorado lamb).
